Gou Mang, a wooden god (spring god) in ancient Chinese Han mythology, was in charge of the germination and growth of trees. He was a descendant of Shaohao and was named Chong, a minister of Fuxi. The sun rises from the Fusang every morning, and the sacred tree Fusang belongs to the Jumangguan. The place where the sun rises also belongs to the Jumangguan.
